Alesha is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto, an incoming professor in the Department of Political Science at Northern Illinois University, and a researcher for ESID in Kenya.
Research
Alesha’s research focuses on the politics of social protection, with a focus on cash transfers in Kenya and Tanzania. Her research looks at the impacts of cash transfer for social citizenship and citizens’ access to the state. Alesha led the Kenya case study within ESID’s comparative work on the politics of social protection in Africa.
